Dear Cedar Hill School Parents,
I can hardly believe that the month of May is almost upon us. It has been a busy school year and as you can see, there are many exciting activities occurring during the month of May. At this point in the school year, everyone is aware that Potowomut students will be attending Cedar Hill School next year. We welcome all of our new tudents and their families to our community. I have written to each family and extended a warm welcome to them. On May 12, we will host an evening for Potowomut parents during our regularly scheduled PTA Meeting. The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. with an Open House. This will be their opportunity to tour the school and to meet the Cedar Hill teachers. At 8:00 p.m., we will host a combined PTA Meeting. Cedar Hill Parents are urged to attend. Later in the month, on May 29, all of the Potowomut students will visit for new student orientation. The faculty and staff are planning activities that will make our new students feel welcome at their new school. They will stay for lunch and recess before returning to Potowomut. Many thanks in advance to all PTA members for helping to make this transition as smooth as possible. As I write this brief Highlighter Article, we are busy with rehearsals for The Sound of Music. Please reserve June 2 and 3 for the annual school play. We are so lucky to have so much talent at our school. Tickets will go on sale in mid-May. As with many things related to the economy, we have had to raise the ticket prices. This year, there will be two admission charges. Adult tickets will cost $7 and student tickets will cost $5.00. More information about the school play will be forthcoming during this month. Please be sure to read the poem about parking in the parent parking lot. Please remember that the safety of our students must come before the convenience of parents.
I do hope that everyone has a pleasant month and that we are all enjoying
this wonderful warmer weather.
Sincerely,
Stephen Kirby Principal |
